The Mirena iud releases a small amount of progesterone hormone
daily to minimise bleeding with your period and increase the effectiveness
of the device. It is effective for five years.
I.U.C.D. removals
It is usually easy to remove the iud in the doctors rooms by pulling
on the string that protrudes from the cervix. If the string is not
visible the iud is removed with a special instrument that hooks
the device out if the uterus.
