All our gynaecologists have special skills and knowledge in reproductive and sexual health. We can assist women of all ages regarding menstrual problems, pelvic pain, pap smears, screening and treatment of infections, contraception and the menopause.

Consultations at Gynaecare's Sydney clinic will involve listening to symptoms, an examination, investigations (eg ultrasound, swabs, pap smears, and blood tests) and then a discussion regarding management. This may involve changes to existing medication, the use of an IUD/IUS, management of abnormal pap smears, colposcopy, dilatation and curettage (D and C), or minor surgery to remove a cervical polyp. Some women warrant further referral to a specialist for treatment that we cannot provide at Gynaecare.

Occasionally some women experience discomfort due to lengthened labia minora. We can advise you and consider surgical treatment to reduce the size (labiaplasty). We are happy to see women considering removal of genital lesions like warts or skin tags.
